Meet Dr. Shawn Walls
I have always believed that the cornerstone of any successful business is integrity. I have built my practice upon the foundation of trust, and trust is built over a long period of time. No one is ever pressured here. With some practices advertising “spa dentistry” and others heavily promoting “cosmetic dentistry”, it has become confusing what the focus of a dental practice should be. I believe that dentistry is health care above all else. You should be able to trust your dentist to care for your health, not try to sell you products and services. We try to exceed your expectations with our customer service and quality of treatment, but we don’t do massages, manicures, or Botox injections.
I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1980. From there I went to Louisiana Tech University, playing football for four years and graduating cum laude in 1984. I graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1988, and then completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson in 1989. I have been in private practice in the Atlanta area since 1989.
My wife, Carol, and I have been happily married since 1987. She is an Atlanta native, a graduate of Berry College, and a former Delta Air Lines flight attendant. We have a daughter, Emily, and a son, Jackson. Emily is a nursing student at Berry College. We enjoy watching basketball games and track meets in which Jackson participates. I am a runner and I enjoy training for and participating in marathons. Our family attends Passion City Church in Atlanta.
Professionally, I take continuing education courses in all areas of dentistry in an effort to stay up-to-date on methods and materials. I am a member of the American Academy of General Dentistry, earning a Fellowship after completing many hours of continuing education and passing a rigorous exam.
Meet Dr. Josh Jenkins
I was raised in Columbus, Ga and graduated from Brookstone High School in 2004. I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Kennesaw State University, graduating summa cum laude in 2009. While in college, I started to explore the possibility of a career in dentistry. I have several family members who are healthcare professionals, but there are no other dentists in my family. I began observing the family dentist I had visited growing up, and immediately knew it was for me. Dentistry requires a unique blend of scientific knowledge and artistic skill, which I found attractive. I enjoy working with my hands and loved the idea of building lasting relationships with my patients. I graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2013 and practiced in the Columbus area for several years before moving to Atlanta in 2016.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, family, and my dog, Scarlett. I am a sports fan, particularly football and baseball, and like to attend Falcons and Braves games whenever I can. I like to stay active and enjoy going to the gym and participating in outdoor activities like hiking and water sports. I regularly attend Buckhead Church in Atlanta, and also enjoy reading, cooking, and live music.
I believe firmly in patient education and prevention. In other words, I strive to educate my patients on the condition of their oral health and will try to explain any appropriate methods of treatment thoroughly. Because daily home hygiene is so critical to achieving and maintaining optimum dental health, I like to emphasize preventive strategies which have been proven to stop a disease from occurring or advancing. When treatment is necessary, my goal is always to provide the highest quality of care in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I regularly attend continuing education courses to stay current on the latest developments in dentistry and am a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.
